Beauty and Vintage

The best collaborations are those that produce fantastic products. Recently, I had the awesome opportunity to work with Ashley over at Urbane Natural. She is an amazingly talented blogger who has the best hair care tips and is the owner of Mahogany Queen an amazing hair product line. Obviously Ashley is the gal to whip your locks into shape. So what do you get when you pair up a beauty expert with a vintage shop owner and style models with fab hair products and funky vintage threads...? Well obviously a fab-tastic photoshoot! We (and by "we" I mean Ashley, who also triples as a photog) took some shots at a fantastic location and had a blast. Check out some of the images below and let us know what you think.

Styling the Runway

Elan Renegade Vintage was super excited recently when we got the opportunity to participate in a fashion show. Sponsored by Alpha Nu Omega, a christian sorority/fraternity on the campus of UMBC, the event was a fabulous success. For the date night themed scene, models were styled in pieces from Elan Renegade Vintage shop by yours truly. Each look highlighted the fun flirty personalities of the models while also showcasing some great RTW (ready to wear) pieces by Elan Renegade Vintage. If you missed the event here's a recap of some of the great looks that came down the runway.

Conservative, Sexy, Cool: Spring 2013

Lace, Brocade Prints, and Modest Necklines are the epitome of vintage fashion. These styles have consistently been glorified in the world of vintage and were very present on the Spring 2013 Runways. Japanese designer Tadashi Shoji knocked it out of the park with his designs during New York Fashion Week. He took the conservative nature of vintage inspired fashion and sexed it up with sheer detailing and coveted silhouettes that even a flat chested, no butt, hip-less fashion lover like me could feel sexy in. With a background in designing for A-list stars of the 70s including Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond, The Jacksons, and Earth, Wind, & Fire, he is no stranger to creating amazingness inspired from the hippie vibes of the vintage eras. Check out some of my favorite pieces from the collection below.

San Fran: The Experience

My trip started rocky and ended equally as difficult but the experience was completely worth the stress. My sorors made the trip worth while. We had an unforgettable time in a city we were able to explore together. From airline troubles to the funky pink and green looks we put together to the city wide experiences, we bonded and have crazy insane stories to tell. Check out the pictures below for a final recap of my fabulous trip.
